Senior CNC Machinist Specialist

Job Summary:

L&T Precision LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Set Up Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our production staff, you will be responsible for preparing all activities to set up a variety of milling machines (3-5 axis) to produce precision parts and tools from metal or plastic to customer expectations for quality and on-time delivery.

About the Role:

This position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC machines using solid models and drawings to produce tight tolerance parts from metal or plastic. You will be responsible for performing job set-up using traditional clamping methods, vices, and custom work holding fixtures. Additionally, you will read and interpret blueprints to maintain dimensions within tolerances of precision machined parts.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate all 3, 5 axis and vertical CNC machining equipment utilizing a wide range of controls.
  • Perform job set-up using traditional clamping methods, vices, and custom work holding fixtures.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints to maintain dimensions within tolerances of precision machined parts.
  • Monitor machining processes and adjust set up as needed.
  • Complete documentation as required by assigned tasks.
  • Acknowledge precise measurements and make calculations using math skills.
  • Work with lead and operators to ensure high quality of parts by closely monitoring and adjusting operation of machine and/or tooling while regularly inspecting parts for conformance to requirements.
  • Detect and correct minor malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all of machine operation issues with assistance from Programming, Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Quickly raise any machining or quality issues with appropriate supervision or engineering support.
  • Communicate daily with Supervisors, leads, and other employees.
  • Collaborate with lead and operators to perform equipment preventive maintenance and clean work area to promote efficient workflow and safe working environment.
  • Able to perform all setups (basic and advanced) and able to provide training to other operators.
  • Maintain workstation and setup carts to 5S standards.
  • Upkeep a high standard of quality work within organization's environmental, health, and safety standards.

About You:

We are looking for a skilled professional with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. You should have experience working in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion. Detail-oriented and good communication skills are essential for this role.

What We Offer:

L&T Precision LLC offers a competitive salary, approximately $85,000 per year, based on experience. Our benefits package includes health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in a fast-paced production environment with occasional exposure to risk OD electrical shock, moving mechanical parts, humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, flying metal, burrs, and chips, and possible chemical irritants such as water-based coolants, hydraulic oils, degreasing soap, and mineral spirits.

Salary:$85,000 - $110,000 per year
