Job Title: Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at the City of Lincoln/Lancaster County, NE. As a Public Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting health and well-being in our community.

Job Summary:

The Public Health Nurse will provide home visitation services to families with newborns, focusing on post-partum care, health education, and support. This is a part-time, temporary position working up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide home visitation services to families with newborns, focusing on post-partum care, health education, and support.
  • Conduct assessments of mother, baby, and family health, identifying needs and strengths.
  • Develop and implement health teaching and education plans to promote healthy behaviors.
  • Provide referrals and case management to individuals and families from diverse and underserved communities.
  • Collaborate with outreach workers, social service agencies, healthcare providers, and health care agencies/institutions in Lincoln/Lancaster County.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a baccalaureate degree nursing program accredited by the National League of Nursing.
  • Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska.
  • Valid driver's license in the State of Nebraska.
  • Experience working with post-partum women, infants, and families with multiple needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
