Medical Office Nurse

Job Summary:
The Medical Office Registered Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of a medical office or clinic. This position requires strong clinical skills, compassion, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and triage patients' medical needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatment.
- Provide patient education on health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.
- Assist healthcare providers during medical examinations and procedures.
- Maintain medical equipment and instruments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, and treatment provided.
Clinical Procedures:
- Perform routine clinical procedures, such as blood draws, EKGs, and wound care.
- Administer vaccinations and medications.
- Coordinate with outside laboratories for diagnostic testing.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain patient records and ensure their confidentiality.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
- Handle insurance verifications and billing related to patient visits.
Patient Interaction:
- Address patient inquiries, concerns, and follow-up care.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
Infection Control:
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures for handling hazardous materials.
Requirements:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience in a medical office or clinical setting is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical procedures and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a healthcare team.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
