Job Summary



We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Developer to join our dynamic team at Cognizant North America. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Spring Boot and Core Java, as well as a strong background in Property & Casualty Insurance. This role requires excellent English language skills and may involve occasional travel.

Responsibilities


  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of software solutions using Spring Boot and Core Java.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality code and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Ensure that all software solutions adhere to industry best practices and company standards.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, incorporating them into the development process when applicable.
  • Work closely with the Property & Casualty Insurance team to understand domain-specific requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all software solutions, ensuring easy knowledge transfer and future reference.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that software solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable value.
  • Travel as required to collaborate with remote teams and attend industry conferences or training sessions.


Qualifications


  • Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in software development with a focus on Spring Boot and Core Java.
  • Demonstrate strong domain knowledge in Property & Casualty Insurance, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Showcase strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Have experience working in a hybrid work model, with the flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Display a proactive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Hold a relevant certification in Spring Boot or Core Java, demonstrating expertise in these technologies.
