POSITION SUMMARY:

The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in overseeing and directing the patient care team. The RN is tasked with providing comprehensive nursing care across various age groups, including adults, pediatrics, infants, adolescents, and the elderly. This involves conducting thorough physical, psychological, and social assessments, leading to the formulation of accurate nursing diagnoses and the development of tailored care plans.

The RN is responsible for managing, organizing, and delivering direct patient care while utilizing clinical judgment and prioritizing tasks effectively. Education for patients' families and other healthcare team members is a crucial aspect of this role, covering health maintenance, understanding disease processes, and planning for discharge.

Flexibility may be required to assist in other units based on staff distribution and patient needs, as well as individual competencies.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • Valid nursing license recognized by the state of Wisconsin
  • Current CPR certification
  • Preferred experience of one to two years in a Medical/Surgical setting or equivalent
  • ACLS certification is mandatory

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position requires night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every third weekend and holiday rotation.
