Clinical Nurse Specialist

Responsibilities- Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in their area of practice, ensuring adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
- Maintains accurate documentation of care.
- Offers health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Serves as a preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
- Leverages leadership skills to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team in implementing effective practices.
- Executes physician and nursing orders.
- Remains professional in all situations.
- Manages patient throughput for assigned physicians.
- Demonstrates clinical competencies in providing direct patient care and patient and family education.
- Possesses strong communication and organizational skills.
- Holds an active Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License in Illinois upon hire.
- Completes required continuing education regarding acute stroke patient care.
