Position Summary
This opportunity arises from an internal transition within the organization. The compensation structure includes a competitive base salary, performance bonuses, and equity options. Our client, a leader in the pharmaceutical sector, has partnered with KNM Resources to seek an accounting expert with exceptional technical accounting and reporting capabilities for the role of Director of Technical Accounting & External Reporting. A minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience along with a CPA designation is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the preparation of external financial statements along with associated disclosures.
- Ensure the maintenance of supporting documentation for quarterly earnings announcements.
- Review IFRS and SEC disclosure obligations to guarantee compliance.
- Focus on continuous process enhancement.
- Stay updated with relevant SEC & IFRS developments that influence financial reporting and technical accounting.
- Lead the research and global application of accounting and disclosure mandates.
- Draft comprehensive accounting whitepapers and memos.
- Manage company-wide accounting policies and revenue recognition in alignment with IFRS and corporate guidelines while collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Conduct technical accounting research.
- Engage in special projects as needed.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors to ensure pertinent issues are communicated effectively to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA certification is required.
- At least 10 years of experience in Big 4 firms and external reporting.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Big 4 environment.
- Preferred experience in collaborative accounting for R&D, Clinical, and Commercial agreements.
- Experience in drafting financial statement filings is essential.
- Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in technical accounting research and the preparation of accounting memos is required.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are essential.
