Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Explain laboratory tests and patient preparation to patients
• Accurately enter specimen, patient, and physician information into the laboratory information system
• Correctly identify patients before specimen collection
• Determine if patients have met any preparation criteria necessary for type of testing
• Determine correct type of specimen and specimen container
• Collect all types of specimens following prescribed guidelines
• Accurately label all specimens with appropriate information

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Certified Phlebotomist program desirable
• One year related experience and/or training preferred
• BLS certification required

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.
