Job Summary

Baystate Health is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating mammography equipment, assisting radiologists with sterile procedures, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure proper patient identification and review of authorization/order forms
  • Operate radiology, mammography information systems, and maintain knowledge of operator manuals and manufacturer's recommendations
  • Perform functions as a clinical mammography technologist, including positioning, compression, exposure, film labeling, film processing, and computer-assisted detection
  • Act as a liaison with hospital personnel to ensure timely coordinated services and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Assist radiologists with interventional procedures, including stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound, and needle localization wire
  • Participate in department quality assurance activities and maintain stock room inventory
Requirements
  • Minimum of 200 mammograms to meet FDA requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiological Sciences Program or equivalent
  • Associates Degree in Radiological Sciences
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in mammography, interventional procedures, and quality control
