Community Health Programs Inc is seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygiene Specialist to join our team at the CHP Neighborhood Dental Center. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and education.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Conduct thorough medical and dental histories, perform intra-oral and extra-oral exams, and provide prophylaxis cleaning and polishing of teeth.
- Root Scaling and Planning: Provide root scaling and planing of teeth as per practice protocols and under the direction of the dentist.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on periodontal disease and other oral health topics.
- Documentation: Accurately document all patient activity in the patient chart.
- Administrative Tasks: Answer phones, schedule appointments, and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Education: Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited school.
- Licensure: Valid Massachusetts license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- CPR Certification: Current CPR certification.
- Software Proficiency: Efficiency and proficiency in Dentrix and other required software.
- Compassion: Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards patients.
- Manual Dexterity: Possess the ability to perform delicate dental procedures.
- Interpersonal Skills: Develop strong relationships with patients, dentists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain accurate records and adhere to practice protocols.
- Physical Stamina: Withstand the physical demands of a fast-paced dental environment.
