The Mental Health Technician plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to the healthcare team within the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. This position is essential for delivering Psychiatric Rehabilitative services to patients, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist unit staff in delivering structured activities and personal care to patients.
  • Participate in discharge planning to facilitate smooth transitions for patients.
  • Utilize crisis intervention techniques as necessary to maintain safety and support.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in psychiatric care, is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English clearly and effectively.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory at the time of hire or within six months.
  • Phlebotomy training is required at the time of hire or within six months.
