Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Therapy Services: Provide evidence-based therapy services to improve speech, language, communication, and swallowing abilities in students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Education and Collaboration: Educate students, parents, and other healthcare professionals on speech-language disorders, therapy techniques, and strategies for improvement.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, psychologists, and educators, to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical work.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and reports.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility for certification.
  • Licensure: State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience: Previous clinical experience, particularly in diagnosing and treating speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and healthcare team members. Compassion, patience, and empathy for individuals with speech and language challenges. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
