Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves upholding the established Accident Prevention Plan and Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and facilitating daily health and safety briefings. Responsibilities include the implementation of safety protocols, documentation preparation, and maintenance of safety records. Oversight of construction activities, subcontractors, and vendor operations is also required. The position demands leadership, direction, and training on health and safety practices.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

  • Familiarity with USACE EM and safety standards
  • Expertise in hazard assessment and safety adherence
  • OSHA 30-hour training certification is mandatory
  • A minimum of 5 years of project experience as a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe software
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Prior experience with Government projects is advantageous

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of 40-hour USACE EM Hazard Awareness Training
  • 30 hours of OSHA Construction Industry Training
  • OSHA HAZWOPER Certification is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must be capable of lifting approximately 40 pounds.
