The Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist oversees the operational aspects of the Imaging Section. This role involves managing patient scheduling and daily task assignments while serving as a key resource for Imaging Technologists within the Radiology Department. The Lead Technologist is instrumental in recommending enhancements to procedures, policies, and quality improvement initiatives, as well as facilitating the training and professional development of Imaging Technologists, ensuring they are informed about advancements in technology. The incumbent is also responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring that technical operations adhere to budgetary constraints. This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensures efficient workflow within the section, recognizing when team members require support or additional resources.
  • Provides expert guidance in decision-making, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and operational management.
  • Acts as the primary contact and resource for hospital personnel, physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Updates imaging protocols and communicates changes to staff.
  • Monitors equipment functionality and coordinates necessary repairs.
  • Enhances and develops the imaging skills of staff members.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a leadership or management role within Nuclear Medicine.
  • Must hold Nuclear Medicine certification (NMTCB).
  • BLS Certification is required upon hire.
