Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Control Room Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of electricity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor plant electric generating units and associated systems to ensure safe and continuous production of electricity.
  • Monitor plant and auxiliary equipment operations to ensure proper plant operation.
  • Maintain proper voltage and current levels.
  • Synchronize generators and control boiler temperature, steam flow, feed water, and fuel flow during operations.
  • Monitor and control plant pollution control equipment.
  • Troubleshoot operating problems and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Coordinate with dispatchers to govern generator load and system voltage.
  • Report load and restriction conditions to dispatchers and receive switching orders.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare daily reports.
  • Take hourly readings on plant equipment and systems.
  • Direct and delegate orders to plant, maintenance, and equipment operators and helpers.
  • Perform necessary housekeeping duties.
  • Train other Control Room Operators as requested.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Control Room Operator experience.
  • May be filled at the CRO Trainee or CRO level.
