Plant Finance Leader

Position Summary

Located in the Augusta, GA region, this role is integral to the Milliken Textiles Manufacturing Finance team, which comprises skilled finance professionals overseeing the financial operations of 24 manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Advanced Plant Finance Leader, this position will focus on the financial management of three specific factories. The role involves significant engagement at plants situated in Johnston, SC, and Thomson, GA, with occasional travel to a third facility in Jonesville, SC. The primary responsibility is to drive cost-effective operations across the weave plants through precise standard costing, budgeting, and expenditure management, while also maintaining a robust internal control framework. This position acts as a strategic partner to plant managers, providing financial insights to support operational decision-making and address manufacturing challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct period-end financial close processes and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Maintain standard practices in operational procedures, budget adjustments, product costing, management reporting, and forecasting.
  • Promote a strong internal control environment, adhering to governance, risk, and compliance standards, including account reconciliations.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing profitability, return on invested capital (ROIC), and process improvements to achieve cost savings and superior financial outcomes.
  • Oversee significant capital and operational expenditures, alongside effective asset management.
  • Direct and validate all inventory and material cycle counts and reconciliations.
  • Perform variance analysis and spending assessments, providing actionable insights to plant management and other business partners.

Qualifications - Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent financial experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a management accounting role, preferably within a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with SAP software.
  • Professional accounting certification (CMA and/or CPA) is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to ownership and responsibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and drive change.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment to achieve results.
  • Commitment to identifying continuous improvement opportunities, including efficiency and automation.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
