Job SummaryThe Echocardiogram Technologist is a critical member of our diagnostic imaging team, responsible for performing echocardiogram procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. This role requires a strong foundation in medical imaging, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform echocardiogram procedures using high-frequency sound waves and other non-invasive testing equipment.
- Ensure patient information remains secure and confidential.
- Prepare for examinations by checking equipment, reviewing physician orders, and inputting patient information.
- Manage patient stress by explaining exam procedures and providing support.
- Enter test data and patient information into computer systems to maintain accurate records.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate results.
- Produce high-quality imaging by accurately positioning transducers and monitoring display settings.
- Record examination details, including measurements of heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity.
- Monitor patient physical condition during procedures and report any changes or emergencies to clinical staff.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in medical imaging or a related field.
- Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers or Ultrasound sonographers.
- ARDMS registered in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS) or CCI Echocardiography (RCS).
- Experience working with electronic health records.
- 3-5 years' experience working in a hospital or medical facility.
- Must be willing to travel to centers within the market.
- Certification in Basic Life Support.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Experience working in medically underserved or culturally diverse communities.
- Bilingual Spanish and English.
