Lineman/Serviceman

PacifiCorp is seeking skilled professionals to join our team as Journeyman Lineman/Serviceman. This role involves constructing, maintaining, and repairing power lines and distribution systems to ensure the reliable and safe transmission of electrical service to customers.

• Construct and maintain power lines and distribution systems, including overhead and underground systems.
• Operate heavy equipment such as line trucks, backhoes, forklifts, trenchers, overhead cranes, and wire pulling equipment.
• Work with blasting and explosive materials and devices.
• Climb poles to construct, repair, or maintain electric line equipment or string, splice, and sag wire on live or dead circuits.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and restore electric service due to line faults, isolated customer outages, and other emergency outages.
• Train and instruct apprentices in all phases of line work, proper use of tools, and operating and maintaining equipment.
• Perform switching and other mechanical duties in substations as required.
• Install and maintain street light systems.
• Patrol and inspect substations, transmission, and distribution lines and equipment, and make a report of findings.
• Test electrical load with special test equipment on primary and secondary circuits and make corrections as necessary to maintain proper voltages.
• Make a complete record of mileage reports, trouble orders, and work performed.

• A high school diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent.
• Journeyman Lineman certification, including completion of a formal training program.
• Must meet examining board review of skills and experience and pass testing through Rocky Mountain Power.
• Candidate must have hot stick training and experience.
• Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License.

This position requires a post-offer, pre-placement physical capacity screening to ensure the candidate meets the physical demands of the job.

The job duties of Lineman require lifting in excess of 75 lbs, carrying in excess of 75 lbs, and pushing and pulling in excess of 100 lbs of exertional force.
