Physician Assistant Expert

National Jewish Health is seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to join our team. This individual will provide patient care in the Division of Rheumatology, focusing on Rheumatologic lung disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout, and Osteoporosis. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- The Physician Assistant will provide regular health assessments, diagnosis, and management of common acute and chronic stable conditions.
- This role involves formulating plans that include treatment, psychosocial support, health education, and counseling.
- The successful candidate will collaborate with other healthcare professionals in assessing and managing healthcare problems, maintaining continuity of care, and coordinating community services.
Responsibilities:
- Provide quality care to patients, families, and significant others in an appropriate setting.
- Perform physical exams, take patient histories, gather data from medical records, review outside medical records, make contact with referring physicians, and develop assessment and care plans.
- Act as a consultant to nursing staff, medical staff, and other support services in identifying and implementing patient problem solutions or needs.
- Monitor patient progress, revise orders and care plans as needed, and monitor test results.
- Write progress notes and work with attending physicians to facilitate review and approval of clinical dictations for individual patient encounters.
- Demonstrate theory-based patient care and synthesis of information into comprehensive care plans using a multidisciplinary approach.
Requirements:
- Current Certification by a national certifying body as a physician assistant.
- Graduate degree preferred but also required for all NPs who were not already on the Colorado Advanced Practice Registry as of June 30, 2008.
- Graduation from accredited school of nursing required.
- A minimum of two years of recent and related experience as a Physician Assistant preferred.
