The Society For Cardiovascular Angiography And Interventions is seeking a skilled Cardiologist to join our team. As a Cardiologist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular diseases.
Responsibilities- Participate in staff meetings, hospital committees, and peer review process.
- Demonstrate effective communication both down to staff and up to leadership.
- Maintain VA training requirements, timely completion of documentation and upkeep of credentials required for privileging and re-privileging.
- Participate in Clinical Pertinence Reviews (routine medical record reviews).
- Provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life.
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- License: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- English Language Proficiency: Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Minimum 2 years clinical practice in adult clinical cardiology.
- Board certification and/or equivalent competency with non-invasive imaging modalities: echo, TEE, nuclear imaging; CT coronary angiography.
- Experience working in inpatient and outpatient cardiology settings.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records, preferably CPRS.
- Willingness to work with and teach cardiology fellows and categorical and preliminary internal medicine residents, and medical students.
- Experience functioning in a multidisciplinary team including advanced practice practitioners (NP, PA); pharmacy providers, nursing and social work/case managers.
- Light lifting, under 15 pounds.
- Light carrying, under 15 pounds.
- Ability to perform privileges.
- Mental and emotional stability.
- Ability to independently perform physical exams as appropriate to position.
