Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients to diagnose and treat various eye conditions, including vision anomalies, diseases, and abnormalities.
  • Prescribe and adapt spectacle lenses, optical aids, and other treatments as needed.
  • Document and maintain accurate patient records, including progress notes and consultation findings.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Manage patient workload and prioritize tasks to ensure efficient and effective care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the United States.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to lift 15-44 pounds, push, reach above shoulder, use fingers and both hands, walk and stand for extended periods, and kneel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience practicing optometry in a VA setting or private clinic.
Working Conditions

This position requires a pre-employment physical and may involve working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
