Job Summary

Clinica Romero is seeking a skilled Substance Use Disorder Case Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our Substance Use Disorder Program, you will develop strong partnerships within the community, promoting our program and providing outreach to individuals in recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessments, interventions, and individual sessions to clients.
  • Facilitate groups for clients experiencing chemical abuse or dependency, maintaining case history and progress notes.
  • Counsel individuals or groups, implementing therapeutic treatment plans to resolve addictions to drugs or alcohol.
  • Assist with providing data for monthly reporting to the Program Director, ensuring clients attend programs as required.
  • Typically require three years' experience in the field of addiction.
  • Develop strong relationships within the community to generate leads for the clinic.
  • Engage the community to refer Clinica Romero as their program of choice.
  • Counsel both youths and adults with substance abuse problems.
  • Manage a caseload, providing quality service to clients.
  • Direct individual sessions and administer crisis intervention/case management.
  • Facilitate and prepare group sessions on various topics related to recovery.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner, including reports, progress notes, discharge summaries, treatment plans, aftercare plans, and other required documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Skills/Specialties include Case Management, Counseling, and Outreach. Certifications include Certified Addiction Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor CCAPP.
  • A minimum of one year's experience working in the field of addiction.
  • Highly motivated and demonstrate good communication skills.
  • Deliver strong, high-energy outreach to the community.
  • Recruit new clients (adults and youth) to our agency.
  • Meet expected outcomes in terms of new clients attending as a result of community efforts.
  • Meet goals and objectives given by the Program Director.
  • Understand the 12 Core Functions.
  • Write individual and group progress notes/treatment plans meeting county standards.
  • Experience in group facilitation.
  • Understanding of the recovery process, including the 12-step program.
  • Experience case managing/counseling clients in recovery.
  • Experience in observed drug testing of clients.
  • Minimum one year's experience in the Drug & Alcohol field.
  • Proof of certification/registration.
  • Completion of required internship hours.
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2000 and Excel.
  • Experience working with Drug Medi-Cal clients (Adult and Youth) a plus.
  • Understanding of Drug Medi-Cal requirements/process a plus.
