Job Summary:

Sophie Station Suites is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Courtesy Van Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring their safe and comfortable transportation to and from various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and test vehicle equipment to ensure proper operation and report any concerns.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of passenger vans and perform daily vehicle upkeep tasks.
  • Fill gas tanks, check oil, and perform other vehicle maintenance tasks as required.
  • Greet and welcome guests, providing a warm and friendly experience.
  • Lift and carry guest luggage up to 60 lbs, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
  • Assist guests with entering and exiting the passenger vehicle, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Answer inquiries about hotel services, shopping, dining, activities, and other local information, providing expert recommendations and advice.
  • Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Transport guests to and from the hotel and various locations throughout the local area, including the airport and train station.
  • Deliver items to guest rooms, such as cribs, coffee, room service, rollaway beds, towels, toiletries, and other requested items.
  • Sweep and/or shovel walkways and other areas requiring access as needed, depending on the season.
  • Complete janitorial duties for work/office and public areas as needed.
  • Assist with property security and other tasks as required.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments and shifts to meet guest needs and maintain a smooth hotel operation.
  • Observe and adhere to health and safety precautions to protect people and property.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Valid Alaska Driver's License.
  • A driving record sufficient to meet company insurance standards.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways.
  • Previous passenger driving experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred, particularly in the hotel/hospitality industry.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles, including assessing needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of motorized vehicle principles and processes for moving people or goods.
  • Effective communication skills, including conveying information to others and actively listening.
  • Able to perform physical tasks requiring sufficient mobility and strength, including standing, sitting, walking, and lifting.
