Machinist Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled Machinist Machine Operator to join our team at BBSI-Modesto. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for fabricating replacement and new parts for facility machinery and product equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining and manual lathe operations.
• Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Inspect machinery for needed repairs and perform minor repairs within expertise.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery and production machinery.
• Complete daily production, parts, and repair logs.
• Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify defects and ensure conformity to specifications.
• Maintain and secure work tools.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Comply with applicable safety standards and regulations.
• Communicate with operators from other shifts.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational/technical school training and apprenticeship required.
• Experience using machine tools, including lathe, milling machine, drill press, and vertical/horizontal cut off saw.

Physical Demands:

• 30 to 40 percent of the job requires lifting, carrying, holding, and manipulating objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• Able to bend over, reach overhead, and push/pull.
• Able to stand on feet for duration of shift.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
