Job Title: Utility Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join our team at Transdev in Irvine, CA. As a Utility Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to vehicle maintenance, facility cleaning, and equipment operation.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily fueling of all vehicles as required, documenting all fluid transactions in log sheets.
  • Pull and dump fare box vaults daily, ensuring accurate and efficient operation.
  • Clean interior and exterior of all vehicles, including sweeping and removal of graffiti and debris.
  • Operate hand and power cleaning equipment, including vacuums and scrubbers.
  • Conduct daily checks of vehicle tires for air pressure and damage.
  • Inspect all units brought through the fuel island for body damage and proper working lights.
  • Responsible for moving or positioning equipment, requiring a Yard Permit.
  • Clean vehicles at remote locations, such as transfer centers or relief points.
  • Perform disinfecting and cleaning of shop and facilities, including removal of garbage from receptacles.
  • Complete required forms for entry into the computer system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the efficient operation of the facility.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of shop safety standards.
  • Must be well organized.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must have a New York State Drivers' License.
  • CDL with airbrakes preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to perform without constant or immediate supervision.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours or shifts.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Must be PC literate.

10% of work is accomplished in doors and in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

70% of work is accomplished in an open garage facility.

20% of work is accomplished in an outdoor setting, outside of the facility.

Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds.

Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion, and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, standing, bending, and handling materials.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.

Unique Working Conditions:

Works around fumes/odors and chemicals; works around heavy machinery and safety hazards.

Additional Job Requirements:
  • Wear uniforms.
  • Wear Specific Safety-related items, including all required Personal Protective Equipment.
