About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometric Technician to join our team at Warby Parker. As a key member of our eye care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences and supporting our doctors in providing top-notch eye care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing a great rapport with all eye exam patients.
  • Clinical Data Collection: Perform preliminary clinical data collection, including autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility testing, retinal imaging, and lensometry.
  • Support with Eye Exams: Support with in-person and video-assisted eye exam appointments as available.
  • Contact Lens Support: Support new contact lens wearers through delivering insertion and removal training, and train additional team members on how to deliver insertion and removal training.
  • Appointment Management: Efficiently manage the flow of patients through the eye exam process, provide support to the doctor in maintaining accurate records, and help with the preparation of reports to other medical professionals as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to governmental regulations and privacy policies, such as HIPAA/PIPEDA, and company procedures.
  • Exam Room Maintenance: Prepare and maintain an organized exam room by replenishing supplies, keeping contact lens trials up-to-date, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness for our equipment, and performing ongoing maintenance and calibration as needed.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualities: Professional, articulate, and compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Team Player: Effective and efficient collaboration and communication with doctors, the store team, and patients.
  • Technical Skills: Precise and comfortable with technology, and able to quickly learn and effectively use new medical applications.
  • Additional Requirements: 1+ years of experience in a medical environment supporting doctors, exceptionally knowledgeable about eyewear, and working knowledge of G Suite.
