Our Refining operations encompass global refining, marketing, and transportation of petroleum products along with associated specialty businesses. As a Phillips 66 Refining Engineering University New Hire, you will engage in training and development programs that offer a comprehensive pathway for early-career engineers at Phillips 66.   • Introduction to company practices, procedures, and technical tools, alongside technical training classes, participation in technical networks, and hands-on training.
  • New hire engineers will learn from both internal and external experts and collaborate with seasoned engineers within your division.
  • Phillips 66 engineers may start their careers by contributing in critical areas such as business or economic analysis, control systems, environmental compliance, equipment reliability and maintenance, process design, operations, and/or project management.

Required qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science/Corrosion, Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Graduation date between December 2024 and Spring/Summer 2025
  • Ability to maintain a proper seal with a respirator/face mask, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred qualifications:
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Previous internship experience with Phillips 66
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in a related industry
  • Willingness to work in any of our operational locations
  • Valid driver's license
The Lake Charles Refinery in Westlake, Louisiana, features facilities including crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization, and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a diverse range of crude oils and produces a significant percentage of transportation fuels, along with other products. Refined products are distributed across various regions and exported internationally.
