As a Cabling Infrastructure Specialist, you will work closely with Project Managers and the Engineering Team to review and implement installation plans and blueprints. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that installations are completed accurately and efficiently, meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain cabling systems for Data, Audio Visual, and CCTV, including pre-wiring, installation, termination, labeling, testing, and reporting in accordance with specifications.
  • Set up network racks and cabinets in server environments.
  • Engage with clients and prospects, addressing inquiries with professionalism.
  • Follow Unlimited's Quality and Safety protocols diligently.
  • Maintain precise documentation, including OHS checks, packing slips, and test results.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently.
  • Be available for overtime as required.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.
  • Preferred: BICSI Technician Certifications.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of telecommunications systems and cabling infrastructure.
  • Experience in installing, troubleshooting, and testing both unshielded and shielded twisted pair cabling.
  • Familiarity with SCS manufacturers' practices and installation guidelines.
  • Ability to work in elevated spaces and perform various installation tasks, including fishing cables and installing raceways.
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic cables and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Conduct site surveys and collaborate with clients on project scopes.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently while reporting to the assigned Project Manager.
  • Install and maintain various cable types within building infrastructures.
  • Test and troubleshoot network communication issues.
  • Perform thorough inspections of cable systems to ensure operational integrity.
  • Install support structures such as cable racks and j-hooks.
  • Provide high-quality service to all clients.
  • Assemble and install necessary hardware in closets, ensuring proper grounding and connections.
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of cabling systems.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Possess strong knowledge of industry-standard cable specifications.
  • Commit to adhering to OSHA and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in pulling, terminating, and testing various cable types.
  • Background in installing low voltage systems.
  • Post-secondary education in relevant fields is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work in diverse environments.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean record.
