Riverside Healthcare is revolutionizing care using leading-edge technology to diagnose and treat patients. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will be part of our team that provides non-clinical medical practice management support to our outpatient medical offices.

Job Description

This role involves phone management, appointment scheduling, and computer data entry. You will greet customers and deliver a positive patient experience through efficient patient registration, creating a friendly atmosphere, and promoting teamwork throughout the medical practice.

Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge and greet all customers timely with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly and ensure customer questions and concerns are addressed efficiently, and take accurate messages.
  • Assist patients with electronic registration within the clinic setting.
  • Confirm all appointments.
  • Scan patient records, test results, and other paperwork timely and accurately.
  • Keep front desk and reception areas ready for each working day and fully operational at the start of business hours.
  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all employees, patients, guests, vendors, and visitors of Riverside Health Care.
  • Maintain current knowledge of insurance coverages.
  • Perform accurate computer data entry of patient demographics.
  • Register patients according to clinic protocols including insurance verification and collecting payments.
  • Schedule patient clinical and diagnostic appointments.
  • Document missed appointments in patient records.
  • Collect information and support the organization's quality measures and health maintenance.
  • Ensure patient work queues are worked timely.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or its equivalent required.
  • Experience in a physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to spell, alphabetize, and count accurately.
  • Ability to work in an automated environment required.
  • Medical terminology required.
  • Insurance and authorization process knowledge helpful.
  • 2-3 years of experience in customer service/receptionist.
  • Must be able to type 35 WPM.

Estimated Salary Range

$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
