Discovery Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Resident Care Specialist to join our northeast region team. This role will involve travel to our communities in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia, depending on assignments.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and implement current policies and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and external regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate and improve compliance with resident rights policies and resolve resident grievances.
- Conduct compliance surveys at communities and assist in coordinating action plans to minimize liability and risks.
- Participate in State and Federal surveys and compliance investigations.
- Support and review plan of correction progress.
- Review and develop performance indicators and survey data to identify trends.
- Provide in-service training and orientation to community staff on survey process, risk management, corporate compliance, and performance improvement.
- Assist Regional Director with auditing level of care assessments for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in the interview and selection process for community Directors of Health and Wellness.
- Assist communities in maintaining knowledge of state regulations and monitoring proposed changes to regulations.
- Champion the company culture.
- Review and facilitate partnership with outside vendors as needed.
- Assist with education and provide clinical expertise for the Director of Health and Wellness role.
- Be computer literate and have excellent working knowledge of all pertinent software.
- Be responsible for timely information reporting.
- Stay in compliance with all state, federal, and government agencies.
- Demonstrate respect and compassion in every interaction.
- Conduct oneself with the highest degree of honesty and integrity in every interaction.
- Demonstrate a passion for caring as evidenced by interaction with co-workers, residents, families, and visitors.
- May be requested to serve as temporary Interim Director of Health and Wellness.
- Multistate Compact Licensure as a Registered Nurse Required.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance in all states of responsibility.
- Current experience in assisted living required.
- Five (5) to Ten (5) years' nursing experience.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing.
- Three (3) to Five (5) year nursing management experience.
- Recent/current experience as Director of Wellness, Director of Clinical, or Director of Nursing in Assisted Living required.
