The role of a Target Safety and Security Associate can provide you with the:

  • Skills in using intelligence-driven strategies to ensure the safety and security of team members and guests
  • Experience in crisis management, safety protocols, and crowd control; offering support to both guests and team members
  • Skills in conflict resolution and experience in recovering stolen items to prevent loss
  • Proficiency in utilizing Target's surveillance systems
  • Ability to accurately document incidents using industry-standard case management systems
As a Target Safety and Security Associate, your daily responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting sales by greeting and assisting guests and team members at the store entrance and on the sales floor; helping guests locate products both in-store and online
  • Promoting a culture of physical security for our team members and guests by maintaining safe and secure standards throughout the store, including the exterior areas.
  • Responding to and accurately documenting security incidents.
  • Understanding and utilizing escalation tools for guest-related issues to maintain a safe environment for all.
  • Conducting effective merchandise recoveries and providing apprehension support as necessary, strictly following company policies and procedures.
  • Preventing theft and loss at the store entrance by performing receipt checks for high-value merchandise.
  • Submitting appropriate documentation in the system for all incidents in accordance with company policies.
  • Understanding and effectively using the surveillance system.
  • Training team members on merchandise protection and audit execution.
  • Educating team members on operational loss prevention opportunities as directed by leadership.
  • Implementing loss prevention action plans established by leadership to minimize loss in key areas.
  • Modeling safe work practices while maintaining a clean environment for guests and team members.
  • Providing service and a shopping experience that meets the needs of our guests.
  • Demonstrating a culture of ethical behavior, safety, and compliance.
  • Performing other duties as required by business needs.
