JOB SUMMARY
The Horticulture Specialist is responsible for performing manual tasks to support the operations within the cultivation department, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, policies, and operational standards.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage in physical, repetitive agricultural tasks while following instructions from supervisors.
- Perform tasks that may require climbing ladders or working on elevated platforms.
- Water and treat plants as necessary.
- Prepare pots with soil for planting.
- Prune and maintain plant health.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Previous experience in cultivation is preferred.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check is mandatory.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to handle organic materials daily and wear personal protective equipment as needed.
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs to a height of at least 5 feet and moving such weight over a distance of 50 feet.
- Ability to work in various positions for extended periods, including standing, sitting, and climbing.
- Visual acuity to perform tasks such as reading and inspecting small details.
- Effective verbal communication skills in a moderately noisy environment.
Compensation will be based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, is available for this role. This position typically requires an average of 40 hours per week, with availability for after-hours work in case of emergencies.
