Bus Manager

Join Gwinnett County Public Schools as a Bus Manager and play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for operating a school bus, managing student behavior, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for all passengers.

• Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, adhering to federal, state, and local laws, as well as GCPS policies and procedures.
• Manage student behavior on the bus, enforcing rules of conduct and providing a positive and supportive environment for all students.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus, ensuring it is clean and sanitary at all times.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain safe driving skills and stay up-to-date on current technology and protocols.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, students, parents, and school administrators to ensure the smooth operation of transportation services.

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake, passenger (P) and school bus (S) endorsements.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must successfully complete the Bus Manager training program provided by Gwinnett County Public Schools.
• Ability to communicate in the English language both orally and in writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as part of a team.

The Bus Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds in case of emergency. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
