Civil Investigator

A Civil Investigator is a critical role within Cherokee Nation Businesses, responsible for conducting thorough investigations related to civil cases and matters. This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations to clarify and verify facts.
- Review correspondence and guidance for the Border Fence Project.
- Understand the rights of entry for government condemnation matters.
- Effectively communicate with landowners verbally and in writing.
- Prepare individual Border Fence Project files.
- Prepare correspondence for assigned Border Fence Project actions.
- Make assessments and provide written reports/analysis of information.
- Perform tasks related to the Border Fence Project program.
- Serve as an English/Spanish interpreter/translator.
- Travel in support of investigations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Fifteen years of law enforcement experience (federal law experience preferred).
- Foreign language skills required (English-Spanish).
- Significant experience in testifying in court.
- Above-average written and oral communication skills.
- Must pass a Department of Justice background investigation.
- Training and experience in federal law enforcement and/or federal investigation fields can be substituted for education.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
