Job Overview:
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support the United States Air Force in achieving strategic goals through advanced data science and analytics.
The ideal candidate will leverage complex data analysis techniques, including predictive modeling and machine learning, to enhance mission planning, analysis, and decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Enhancement:
Collect and process data from various Air Force systems, databases, and external sources.
Enhance data quality through cleaning, validation, and preprocessing techniques.
Implement methods to handle data discrepancies, missing values, and anomalies.
Advanced Analytics and Modeling:
Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and insights that influence strategic decisions.
Apply advanced statistical and computational methodologies to support mission objectives.
Construct and manage key performance indicators, metrics, and dashboards for ongoing assessment of Air Force operations.
Reporting and Advanced Visualization:
Develop detailed reports and dynamic presentations to share findings with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Design and build sophisticated visualization tools to simplify complex analytical results for strategic decision-making.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Strategic Communication:
Collaborate with Air Force personnel, fellow data scientists, and external partners to align data science activities with organizational goals.
Deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to aid in strategic planning, resource allocation, and mission execution.
Professional Development and Innovation:
Keep abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and analytics tools.
Engage in professional development to continually advance personal expertise and contribute to the organizational knowledge base.
Requirements:
Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in data science or a similar analytical role.
Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
Proficient with advanced data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, and QlikView.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities.
Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable manner.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Prior experience with military or government entities.
Knowledge of Air Force missions, operations, and systems.
