Job Summary

This role is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and experiences in accordance with Mountain Park Health Centers' guiding principles, HIPAA, and relevant federal and state laws. The Medical Assistant I position requires a solid foundation of knowledge regarding the functions necessary to become a Medical Assistant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and complete clinical and non-clinical assigned duties, tasks, responsibilities, and assignments in the back office.
  • Adhere to and follow procedures for immunization and medication administration, including labeling, storing, and utilization.
  • Perform and adhere to all Clinical Laboratory of Improvement Amendments (CLIA) testing instructions; collect specimens, process, and document results in the electronic health records (EHR).
  • Fulfill provider orders within scope of practice and provide patients with discharge instructions.
  • Assist with coordinating the continuity of patient care with internal health departments.
  • Maintain proper levels of supplies in exam rooms and prepare exam rooms for patient care and procedures.
  • Identify and report any safety hazards or potential hazards by directly notifying supervisory staff immediately of concerns.
  • Interview patients to obtain reason for visit, history, and chief complaints; perform vital signs and other patient care needs, document the same to complete the patient intake process.
  • Utilize and abide by proper charting and documenting procedures for all patient-related services, exams, interactions, and assignments performed.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Graduate of a medical assistant program
  • Current CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electronic Health Record experience
  • At least one year of previous medical back-office experience
  • Registered medical assistant (RMA) or certified medical assistant (CMA) credential
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English or Somali/English)
