Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Team Leader in analyzing sales, reports, and labor to drive business growth and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, and to resolve team concerns or issues.
  • Function as the point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution, and foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.
  • Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards, and provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
  • Consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals.
Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of meat products, and a growth mindset towards greater responsibility and ownership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
  • Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Thorough product knowledge, and advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
  • 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, and to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes in priorities. The ideal candidate will be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Whole Foods Market offers a competitive hourly rate of $35.00, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, and paid time off.
