Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Pain Center. As a key member of our Interventional Radiology team, you will be responsible for performing specialized procedures under the direction of a Radiologist and/or manager. This is a part-time day shift position that requires a high level of technical and professional expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional procedures on scheduled shifts, including emergency callback, and operate angiographic equipment.
  • Provide care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics, and educate patients and families on health and wellness.
  • Maintain open and positive communication with staff, physicians, and other departments, and instruct, supervise, and evaluate student technologists.
  • Promote professionalism within the department, hospital, and community, and act as a role model.
  • Perform a variety of tasks, including maintaining intra-arterial access, receiving and documenting verbal and written orders, and starting and removing intravenous access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in performing all exams, maintain the physical environment of the department, and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Apply principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others, and manage and coordinate activities with other areas of the department and hospital to ensure patient care.
  • Participate in physiologic monitoring of patients, evaluate images for technical quality, and post-process digital data while ensuring proper identification is recorded.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
  • Maintain active registry status in ARRT and current Iowa Permit to Practice.
  • Two years' experience preferred, with proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three months of hire, with Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
