Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to lead our Urology Department team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide nursing support and leadership in an outpatient setting, working closely with patients, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care in an outpatient setting, including administering medications, performing venipuncture, and managing patient flow.
  • Assist with urologic procedures such as cystoscopies and bladder installations, and contribute to the development and implementation of a teaching plan related to self-care for patients.
  • Travel to other UCLA Urology clinics throughout the community as assigned by the supervisor for coverage.
  • Collaborate with the clinic front desk team to ensure seamless patient care and administrative support.
Requirements
  • CA LVN License (with IV Certification and Blood Withdrawal certification) or LVN License (without IV Certification) with Phlebotomy Certification.
  • Possession of CPR certification/BCLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to other Urology clinics as assigned.
  • Ability to perform patient assessments and take appropriate action.
  • Skill at setting up and maintaining sterile fields.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and establish cooperative working relationships with administrators, doctors, peers, and public.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of urologic conditions and their treatments.
  • Ability to assist with cystoscopic examination.
  • Treatment skills including catheterizations and bladder installations.
  • Experience with varied computer hardware and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs, and the UCLA Hospital Information System.
  • Expertise in speaking clearly and distinctly, in both Spanish and English, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar, to obtain and convey information to patients and individuals at various organizational levels, both in person and over the phone.
