About the Role

We are seeking a skilled UC Therapist to join our team at Bethany. As a UC Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to unaccompanied refugee and immigrant children who have experienced trauma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify the needs of each child
  • Develop and implement therapeutic plans to promote healing and reunification
  • Hold weekly individual and group therapy sessions to support children's emotional and psychological well-being
  • Coordinate reunification plans to ensure children are safely reunited with their family members or sponsors
  • Facilitate transfers and provide support to children during transitions
  • Attend trainings, meetings, and supervision sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments
  • Prepare reports and required documentation to ensure compliance and transparency

Requirements
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field of study from an accredited college
  • License eligible
  • Bilingual English and Spanish required
  • Prior experience working with children and families from diverse cultures, with sensitivity to cultural differences and norms, strongly preferred
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the US to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Documentation of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases or the willingness to receive vaccination or seek an exemption
  • Subscribe to and integrate the agency statement of faith and mission statement
