Role Summary
The Project Manager for the Appalachian Cradle to Career Partnership plays a vital role, reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Place-Based Partnerships: Sustaining & Thriving. This position is responsible for establishing effective systems to convene leadership discussions and working groups among various partners. The Project Manager will also focus on ensuring the sustainability of the partnership and individual member organizations through research, grant writing, fundraising, and comprehensive communication strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate collaboration among partners, stakeholders, and communities through strategy working groups and committees, utilizing the Collective Impact framework.
- Engage with partners and communities to promote understanding of the cradle to career approach.
- Collaborate with the data team to create professional presentations for stakeholders and potential funders.
- Design and oversee the production of visually engaging digital and printed materials, incorporating data and graphics for effective communication.
- Manage daily operations and shifting priorities across the partnership and its geographic areas.
- Provide strategic assistance to the Associate Vice President of Place-Based Partnerships: Sustaining & Thriving, enhancing the backbone support for the partnership through strategic communications and funding proposals.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the mission of ensuring success for all rural students.
Work Environment
This position allows for remote work within designated Appalachian counties, with occasional travel required for meetings and events. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with flexibility for in-office, hybrid, or remote arrangements.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of four years in partnership development or stakeholder engagement on complex issues.
- Four years of experience in creating and overseeing communication and fundraising materials.
- Proven experience in preparing proposals and reports for funding sources.
Skills and Abilities:
- Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Results Based Accountability.
- Strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a focus on problem-solving.
- Experience in managing federal or state grants.
- Commitment to serving students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe applications, and various technology platforms for virtual engagement.
- Understanding of fundraising and communication strategies.
