Responsibilities
  • The Dermatologist will participate in and/or manage all aspects of a general dermatology program, to include clinical, administrative, academic, and research components if warranted.
  • The dermatologist will diagnose, treat, and manage patients according to standard, usual, and acceptable methods and techniques.
  • Exercise medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for a specific group of patients.
  • Will provide services such as outpatient examinations, consultation services related to dermatology, including teledermatology consultation, and management of patients with current treatment regimen.
  • Providing clinical consultation to Harry S Truman VAMC clinical staff.
  • Patient caseload may be inpatient, outpatient, or both.
  • May work with primary care physicians on a consulting basis when a patient has symptoms that suggest an endocrine issue.
  • Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care.
  • Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation.
  • Participate in education of Residents and Medical Students
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews.
  • Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff
Work Schedule

Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
