Job Summary

We are seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at Triumvirate Environmental. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients on-site by managing their hazardous waste programs and projects, utilizing state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct On-Site Evaluations: Assess and categorize hazardous waste materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Safely Pack and Segregate Hazardous Materials: Prepare and label containers according to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Document and Maintain Accurate Records: Document and maintain accurate records of waste disposal activities, including manifests and shipping documents.
  • Coordinate with Clients and Vendors: Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and regulatory agencies regarding waste management processes.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to hazardous waste handling and transportation.
  • Monitor and Maintain Inventory: Monitor and maintain inventory of waste materials and supplies needed for waste handling activities.
  • Oversee Physical Relocation of Hazardous Materials: Oversee the physical relocation of hazardous materials, including packing, loading, transportation, and unloading.
  • Respond to Emergency Situations: Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations involving hazardous materials.
  • Operate Commercial Vehicle: Safely operate Triumvirate's commercial vehicle (Class C) while transporting hazardous materials.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry, or relevant military experience.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually, and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Relationship-Building Skills: Skilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Eligibility to Work in the United States: Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid US driver's license and reliable form of transportation.
  • Background Check: Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen.
  • Lifting Ability: Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work overtime on a regular basis and flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday).
  • Professional Advancement: Ability to complete a 2 to 3 year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management.
