We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant to fill the role of Lead Physician Assistant at Direct Staffing Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and guiding the activities of a small group of physician assistants/physician extenders, performing clinical duties, and overseeing the development and implementation of clinical protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Guidance
- Orient, train, and assign work to Physician Assistants
- Act as first-level reviewer for a small group of Physician Assistants
- Recommend candidates for hiring and assist management with disciplinary matters
- Develop and secure approval of protocols, standards, policies, and procedures
- Monitor compliance of established protocols, policies, and procedures
- Establish, submit for approval, and administer annual manpower budget
- Establish and maintain employee work schedules, including patient load assignments
- Approve and schedule vacation time and other scheduled time off
- Maintain employee records
- Develop, implement, monitor, and revise clinical rotations for student Physician Assistants
- Plan and implement in-service education programs for department Physician Assistants
- Participate in various committees, as assigned
- Maintain and enhance expertise through appropriate educational and organizational activities
- At least 5 years of experience with inpatient medical management, or in ER or Urgent Care
- Lead experience or desire to move into a lead position
