Key Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care, including preparing patients for exams and procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized treatment area.
  • Take and develop dental x-rays, and prepare dental materials and instruments for procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, and ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, and ensure patients feel welcome and comfortable during their visits.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective treatment, and anticipate the needs of the dentist and hygienist during procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest dental techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • 1 year minimum paid Dental Assistant experience (not including externship)
  • Experience with chair-side 4-handed dentistry
  • General DA experience is preferred
  • OSHA and HIPAA understanding and ability to comply with office, state and dental board rules and regulations to ensure patient safety
  • Good written communication skills to ensure clinical notes are completed accurately and in compliance with office policies
  • Excellent customer service skills to ensure patients feel welcome and decrease any dental anxiety
  • Ability to follow directions and anticipate the dentist's needs during treatment to ensure procedures are completed in a timely fashion
  • Successful candidates are motivated, detail-oriented, and self-starters with high initiative
  • Ability to capture x-rays of diagnostic quality in an efficient time manner
