About the Role

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest is a non-profit organization dedicated to building strong, resilient communities through collaborative partnerships and innovative services.

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Early Childhood Provider to join our team as a Family Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in increasing family protective factors through parenting activities, assisting with day-to-day operations of our Family Resource Centers, and ensuring the implementation of our Standards of Quality for Family Strengthening & Support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Parenting Activities: Co-facilitate adult and child activities, plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children during parent education and workshops, and present a professional attitude, greeting families with respect and cultural sensitivity.
  • Data Management: Enter parent attendance information and maintain accurate records.
  • Parent Activity Coordination: Support the Early Childhood Educator with the preparation and storage of materials for parent activities.
  • Safety and Health: Follow internal protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for clients and employees.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma with 12 hours of college-level early childhood education or 2 years of early childhood classroom experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to work with young children birth to 5 and their parents/caregivers, experience with computer hardware and Microsoft Office software, current CPR and First Aid certification, and a clear driving record.
  • Professional Development: Create and implement an annual professional development plan, complete and maintain certification in Standards of Quality for Family Support and Strengthening, and participate in ongoing professional development training.
