HVAC Technician Job Description

Manpower Engineering is partnering with a leader in the pharmaceutical industry to fill a 2nd Shift HVAC/Plant Facility Technician position. This role is a great opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dynamic team and contribute to the success of a leading organization.

Job Summary

The HVAC/Plant Facility Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plant systems in a cGMP environment. This includes HVAC, boiler, chiller, D.I. water, compressed air, fire sprinklers, water softeners, generator, dust collection, and alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and perform maintenance on facility systems, including boiler and boiler auxiliaries, chiller and cooling tower, air handling units, pumps, and associated equipment.
  • Administer chemical treatment systems.
  • Follow cGMP standard operating procedures and execute documentation and logbooks required in a cGMP environment.
  • Sanitize systems monthly or as directed by Quality Assurance.
  • Responsible for parts procurement and spare parts inventory.
  • Schedule, coordinate project work, and supervise contractual labor.
  • Responsible for annual preventative maintenance inspections and certification of mechanical systems.
  • Fabricate and install plant equipment designed by Engineering or outside vendors.
  • Provide production support on automated manufacturing and packaging machinery as required or assigned.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with all company and OSHA safety standards.
Requirements
  • A vocational certificate or degree in HVAC/R or similar training is strongly preferred.
  • 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a vocational degree; or 12 years' experience working in HVAC/R with no degree.
  • A 2nd Class B or higher license is required.
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products is required.
  • Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certification is preferred.
  • Awareness of hazards associated with steam, refrigerants, and treatment chemicals.
  • Exposure/experience to GMP environments.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Knowledge in troubleshooting PLC, Servo drives, and VFD's.
  • Full understanding of thermos-dynamics and concepts.
