About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the pharmacy department and ensuring the smooth operation of our medication management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including unit dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, and stock orders.
  • Perform medication deliveries and distribute medications to patient care areas using barcode scanning technology.
  • Fill medication requisitions and type labels for ambulatory and discharge prescriptions.
  • Manage inventory in all pharmacy areas and automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) and charge stock orders, ADC shrinkage, and patient and clinic requisitions.
  • Provide information and triage phone calls to the appropriate individual within the pharmacy department.
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities as assigned by certified technician specialists, pharmacists, or pharmacy managers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Previous hospital-related experience, formal training, or certification from a pharmacy technician training program desired.
  • Must be a registered Pharmacy Tech Trainee with the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions with accuracy, precision, and dependability.
  • Ability to work accurately under stress with time constraints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
