We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Cowlitz Indian Tribe. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Job Summary:The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care that meets their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess patients' substance use disorder (SUD) level of care needs and suitability for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using ASAM criteria.
- Collaborate with the care team to identify changes in patient condition and mitigate crisis or decompensation.
- Perform venipuncture and injections as ordered by the MAT provider.
- Ensure accurate and timely prescription management, including e-prescribing and follow-up to ensure patient receipt.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the MAT provider, evaluating and documenting effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Maintain accurate records of medication receipt and tracking, adhering to program policy.
- Document nursing care provided and maintain accurate records of patient progress and activities.
- Coordinate patient appointments, lab work-ups, and diagnostic results.
- Provide patient education on MAT, laboratory results, diagnostic results, medications, and program expectations.
- Foster a coordinated team approach to ensure efficient client care.
- Stay up-to-date on community health and addiction trends, adhering to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to ensure that technical and clinical skills of Registered Nurses and Medical Assistants are functioning within scope of practice and licensure.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Five years progressive work experience in nursing.
- BLS/CPR and AED certifications.
- Valid driver's license for work-related purposes.
- Background screening and investigation requirements.
This role is performed in an office and clinic environment, with occasional exposure to unpleasant odors, bodily fluids, and infectious disease. PPE may be required in certain situations. Weekend and/or evening work may be required.
