Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated Junior Hydraulic Modeling Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Atlanta, GA office. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong academic foundation or relevant experience in hydraulic modeling, particularly in wastewater and water distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and calibration of hydraulic models for both water and sewer systems.
- Analyze model outputs to formulate actionable recommendations for our clients.
- Support master planning and design initiatives within the Conveyance Practice Group.
- Collaborate with a team of skilled hydraulic modelers on diverse projects.
- Engage in fieldwork to install, operate, and maintain hydraulic measurement instruments as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with the intention to obtain EIT or PE licensure.
- 0 – 5 years of experience in water resources engineering, focusing on hydraulic modeling.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software such as Infoworks ICM, InfoWater Pro, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, and PCSWMMM.
- Experience with geospatial analysis tools like ArcGIS Pro.
- Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R) and SQL.
- EI/EIT Certification is a plus.
- Advanced degree (Master of Science or Master of Engineering) is preferred.
